Fresh from a button show, Here is an adorable figural chunky Bakelite button or charm in the shape of a lit cigarette. It is small and very cute. I believe the red part is painted to make it look lit. Measures 3/4 in. long x 1/4 in. thick. Side drilled shank. Very good condition There is a teeny tiny speck of white by one of the shank holes which could have chipped off while sewing it on to something. Fabulous Celluloid BUTTON from the Bakelite Era. It is a fabulous raised design of a Standard Poodle dog that appears to be over washed and has gradient shades of dark pink to light pink as it goes to the center. The poodle dog’s haircut is a standard cut for the poodle and is in a cream and pink speckly color made to give it texture. It measures 1 1/2 in. in diameter. Excellent condition with no chips or cracks (a slight crazing on the raised shank).

Here is a super Movable Bakelite button in a great translucent swirl of browns and yellows making a realistic tortoise shell color. XL BAKELITE BUTTON Thumb Print 3 Color Dots Fall Colors

Here is another great button that came from a 1930’s New York seamstress’ estate of one of a kind items that were on her ordering board. Great Fall colors...The base button is a warm chocolate brown with a thumbprint design (one on each side of the triangle and in-between are 3 different colored bakelite dots....one translucent swirl light olive green, one light pea green mottled with brown and yellow and the third one is a beautiful green with darker green swirl. It has a metal loop shank. In excellent condition with no chips or cracks in the Bakelite.

During this store’s time in business it acquired many other businesses that were liquidating their stock...so what was available was a wide variety of vintage buttons from all over. I spent many hours, after store hours, going through thousands of buttons and hand picked an assorted grouping of beautiful buttons. This is a molded Celluloid button that is hollow inside and has a cream Celluloid back (there is a light pinkish stained curved line on the cream back). It is a molded dark blue Celluloid flower button. It is one of the larger buttons I found there. It measures approx. 1 5/16 in. across. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.

Here is a most unusual button. I have seen this design in one color in Bakelite, but never in 2 colors in Celluloid. Furrier's Supplies on West 30th St. These were mostly all one of a kind from her ordering board. It is a fabulous Stardust button which is a rare color of Bakelite. It consists of Apple Juice Bakelite with gold glitter embedded in it. This button is in the shape a large chunky bow and is carved to form that design. It is so beautiful because it is one thick and chunky piece of Bakelite. It measures 1 7/8 in x 1 in. and is 5/16 in. thick. Excellent condition and would be a wonderful and unique addition for your collection.
